The day you buy a catering truck is a day you’ve bought a business. As it is the business, it has to be ready to operate throughout business hours without a  hitch. When you get a catering truck you also obtain all of the headaches that may come if it breaks down on the road. This may lead to a few hungry plus angry customers, so you need to be sure in purchasing a great truck. 

Know how much you can pay or finance, and plan accordingly. You must be acquainted with how much you are able to afford when selecting between a new or used catering truck. Ask for recommendation from current owners. Find out  where they purchase from in your area. Ask them if the dealers are reliable and if they back up their products. Bring a mechanic when you go to a used catering truck dealer. This can be your business; you cannot afford a lemon. If you cannot bring a mechanic, make sure you are able to bring the truck to a mechanic for inspection prior to you buy. If you get new, ask what the warranty covers. Will the dealer give you along with a loaner if your new truck goes down? 

Before buying, take a look at the catering area of the truck. If it’s a used truck, run it prior to buying. Turn everything on as if you were going to stock the truck. Try the coffee machine. Flip on the steam trays and the fans. Check to make sure if the propane tanks (if put in) work. Test|Check drive the truck. You’ll be spending a lot of your time in this truck, and you want to be certain it’s comfy and that everything within the cab works. You’ll be maneuvering in tight places at times, so check that you can see out of  the rear view mirrors plus have an excellent view from the windshield. If the truck meets your expectations, offer a price. A price twenty percent lower than the advertised cost is a great beginning offer. If a used catering truck needs repairs, also take the cost of any repair off.
